Help implementing note-taking, organizational, and time-management skills – made school truly enjoyable again

Mrs. Beitler is by far one of the most influential people and educators in my life. I was fortunate enough to have her as a teacher twice, as a freshman and then as a senior at the Advanced Placement level. Both times she found a way to present the information in an informative, but entertaining way. For example, in psychology, she facilitated fun activities and projects to present the information in a way far beyond what a simple lecture could give. With her help, I was able to get a 5 on my AP Psychology exam.

My learning style is what one can only be described as disorganized. Struggling with an undiagnosed learning disability in high school, I often had a hard time keeping up with assignments and figuring out how to organize the content in a way that made sense to me. Mrs. Beitler was immensely helpful in recommending and helping to implement note-taking styles and organizational and time-management skills that made school truly enjoyable again for the first time in years. I have continued to use these skills for success through undergrad and now grad school. I will never truly be able to express my gratitude to Mrs. Beitler for the kindness, mentorship, and sometimes necessary tough love she provided me in high school and cannot recommend her enough to anybody who is looking to find the joy in school again.
